We’re emigrating to Australia and have decided to de-clutter before we go and so it’s with a heavy heart we now offer it for sale. I had it overhauled and re-padded for her, and she attempted to learn it by ‘quacking’ on it a couple of times then decided that the Sax wasn’t for her! Due to the history, age and sheer beauty of the horn I fell in love with it and decided to keep it for the next eight years until now. ![]() ![]() in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, USA between the years of 1918-1919 this stunning vintage alto was originally a birthday gift for my beautiful wife. The years have added a wonderful tarnish to the sax warming the tone when played giving a real sonic fattening to sound without muddying the articulation or harmonic highs. This small flat spot does not affect the playability or tone one iota. There is a tiny (and I mean tiny) flattening on the very bottom of the ‘U-Shaped’ section beneath the bell which I will have to point out as it’s too small to capture on my camera. This instrument is in truly amazing condition as it makes it way to its 100 year anniversary.
